are these A-level choices okay for medicine

currently in year 11 and I am thinking of picking Biology, Chemistry, Psychology and ict for my AS level and then drop either Psychology or ict.

I didn't choose maths because i don't think i can get an A in it

would gcse maths be sufficient as i have achieved an A* in edxecel maths (methods), and A in ocr maths (methods) and B in ocr maths (applications)

would those A level choices be okay

I believe some places ask for 3 sciences, with two at A2, so I don't think you'll be able to apply to those places. However, I'm not sure exactly how many places ask for this, I think it's only a few with Cambridge being one of them. Besides this you should be alright, but have you considered doing physics instead of IT or psychology? It would let you expand your choices a bit and it helps slightly for first year. If you don't think you'll like it, or get an A in it then there isn't much point in doing it then and your choices are fine.

Bit confused about your GCSEs, I thought you could only do it with one exam board? Would you receive more than one GCSE or are they just the modules? Most places ask for at least a B in maths so if you get that or above you should be fine.

I have considering but I don't really like doing physics even at GCSE so I don't think i would be motivated enough to get an A for it. and my school entered us for the ocr maths and then as a countermeasure entered us for the edexcel one even before we had gotten our ocr maths grades back as there would have been people that didn't get a c or above

In that case just stick with your choices if you're confident that you'll get As, but research your unis thoroughly to make sure that they don't require 3 sciences then you should be alright.

Ah I see, it's to increase the school's ranking and % 5A*-C grade right? It's the first time I've heard of such a thing though, so I'm not too sure what unis will think about you taking more than one maths GCSE at a time, it's not exactly a resit but neither is it exactly the conventional approach.

yh I think so, but I would only put in my edexcel maths grade as they would want my top 5 or top 8 A*-C
