Are my GCSE's acceptable and which A-levels should I take? Please help
Hi everyone, I have two questions which if someone knew the answers to it would really help me.
My first is are my GCSE grades/choices good enough for me to get into any medical schools?
What I took for GCSEs and what I'm going to get are below.
English language:B
English literature:A
Chemistry:A*
Biology:A*
Physics:A*
Maths:A*
Statistics:A/A*
RE:A*
IT (OCR nationals 2 GCSE version):A*
Society, health and development level two higher diploma: A
French Level two foundation NVQ: PASS( it's a pass or fail course)
I'm worried over the B in English language and that I took a diploma course and NVQ language.
Will medical schools still accept me with those grades?
And for A-Levels I'm definately taking: chemistry, biology and maths and then for my fourth a-level I'm really stuck over weather I should take English literature (to show im academically rounded) or physics?
What I think I'll get in the subjects is below.
Chem,Bio and maths: A/A*
Physics: A
English literature: B/A
I really, really, really want to be a doctor more than anything so advice on what to do to make getting into medical school possible will really help.

Hi
Are you yr 12 or yr 13. I presume yr 12. In which case keep your head down and worry about which A-level to drop in the summer.
Regarding your GCSEs; they are good enough to apply for medicine.
Regards
Nate

Hi, thank-you so much for replying, but no - I'm currently in year eleven and I really didn't know what to take at a-level.
I think i'll biology, chemistry, maths and English, but I was unsure if they were okay for medical school.
Thank-you again for replying.

You can take English literature as most medical schools want either 2 or 3 science-based subjects (this includes maths) for A-level, but Physics might give you more help
Your GCSE's are fine, they generally want science to be above a B, and 5 A*/A subjects, which you have
I wouldn't worry about that too much! Just get plenty of work experience and do some volunteering, and you'll be fine
