A2 Salters B Chemistry Coursework 2010. Propanone and Iodine.

I know this is a site for medics/dentists etc...
I want to be a medic and i am having huge problems with my A2 chemistry Unit F336 coursework.

I am doing the reaction between propanone and iodine in acidified conditions. I am using the colorimetry method looking at the rate at which the solution changes from brown/ yellow to colour less.

and my graphs with respect to all three reactants all show zero order - which is wrong. 1 is zero order the other 2 are supposed to be first.

My chemistry teacher isn't massively helpful, however much of a nice bloke he is.

basically what i am asking is does anybody have any pointers on what they did in this experiment or just the coursework in general.

Any ideas would be kindly received, sarcastic comments are not needed really!

    Thanks

I feel for you I really do... I handed in my chunky 60 odd pages of project on the enzymatic browning of bananas the other week and am quite glad to see the back of it.

All I can suggest (not being familiar with that particular investigation) is make sure that your axis are right, eg they're not meant to be 1/t or anything weird like that... nearly screwed up mine by not realising that!

I can try asking one of my friends who did this one, and see if she can shed any light... she had problems with her experiments too...
