    January Examination Results

Well, January examinations results were out today (if you're lucky enough to go to a school that has signed up for the electronic results... Otherwise you've got another week to wait!)

We won't make this a brag fest, so grades only.

I achieved 3A*s, which I'm unbelievably shocked at, being that depression from personal circumstances has seriously effected the amount of revision I have done since October.

Soo, good news or bad news everyone?

Congrats Magpie and well done on your offers!!!

I got 3 A's and am also completely shocked due to difficult personal circumstances at the time of my exams. Hoping I get a offer through though, so that I can actually do something with these results *fingers crossed for cardiff* =]

Congratz. I got 3A's and you can't get A*'s at this point reason is A* is awarded at the end of the course when all your A2 marks are tallied. I got all higher than 90% and was suprised to see no A* being awarded and my teachers told me this as well.

    Congratz on your scores too!

Well, maybe my school automatically converted anything above 90% to an A* Grade. The paper results I was given were printed off from a spreadsheet that my school had put together, and specifically, I just had * where the grade was supposed to go (and to the left of that the UMS Score.)

Yeah must have been something your school did. You can't actually get an A* in a module.

yea it must just be your school. I got over 90% in 2 of my modules but it just says A next to it cuz you cant get an A* in an individual module. Dont really see the point in predicting whether or not you will get an A* cuz you have no idea how the exams in June will go

I had mixed feelings about my results... I did a chemistry retake and managed to pull it right up from almost a D to a strong A, so I did a lot of crazy jumping around for that one, managed to get an A in biology, despite the very best efforts of those pesky aquatic mammals (!!) but I bummed out in the psychology module this time round. Last year I got 97%... jan's mark was 2 off a B. I was a little bit disappointed with that. But overall, that still comes out as an A due to AS marks thank god!! (Retaking anyway, just to keep that grade as safe as possible...)
