Best ADVICE:.............Do your OWN research.
Simple answer: Yes you can leave maths, it isn't compulsory. Uni's love chemistry and biology mostly. But in particular you should check the requirements for each uni you intend to apply to.
No one can answer your question because there is no answer to what EXACT a-LEVELS to take. Poeple take subjects like sports coaching to Italian and get in. As long as you have the minimums all is well
Good luck and don't panic, honestly.LIVERPOOL 1ST YEAR MEDIC 2011

Yes: chemistry, biology, english literature, and sociology/RE should be fine.
(the only exception is cambridge which requires 3 sciences)

There is no magic or perfect combination. Exact A-levels for getting in don't exist.
As the others have said, do the subjects you enjoy providing you've got biology and chemistry in the mix aswell. English literature and R.E./sociology would be fine (infact, you'd probably find the latter option(s) more useful than maths. I've found my psychology A-level more useful than A-level chemistry and AS physics combined thus far).Third Year Medical Student: Keele

Hey whatsupdoc. I've applied this year studying Chem, Maths and Philosophy and Religion with Biology AS on the side. The way I see it is as long as you've got your scientific core to your subject choices feel free to choose another suject(s) which you feel would best prepare you for a medical degree.
Especially at PBL or integrated courses where group work plays a big part I'd imagine having a few people with a more broad knowledge base would certainly do no harmGlasgow Fresher 2010

Chemistry and biology are a must: avoid one of those, and your choice of university will be limited (you'll have to phone up and/or check the website of every university to see which will want which biology or chemistry). As for maths - it's by no means compulsory. Your other choices sound fine.
As they said, do your research. It's good that you're looking ahead, and best of luck.
