    Music?

I was wondering whether a diploma in piano (Dip LCM) would help in any way with an application to medicine? Obviously academic grades are more important etc, but would i possibly be able to squeeze any UCAS points out of it? Cos I've only heard about points for grades 6-8 and i never took those and just skipped

I'm new to the forum so don't bite my head off if i say something silly!

i got that when i was 7 and completed all the grades prior so your diploma is probably worth nothing

Ignore 1rlm. He regularly posts offensive and discouraging messages, often with little truth in them. He'll be banned again and his posts will be removed as soon as an administrator notices his new account.

Anyway, I would imagine your Diploma will probably be of use to you - usually most sufficiently advanced qualifications are taken into consideration. You can always check out the UCAS Tariff Tables. Although it's not directly related to Medicine, most Universities like to take an interest in those that they consider to be "rounded individuals", so I'm sure it can only be a positive thing for you.

I can't imagine the universities will care about the UCAS points, but they probably WILL care about the fact you have a hobby, and have shown committment and skill by getting a musical diploma.
