That's alright! I remember how stressful it was getting everything sorted and how much I appreciated a few words of advice back then so I want to keep the love being passed on! Actually, thinking about it, it's still pretty stressful with the agonizing waits to hear from unis

    and welcome aboard glint

so which universities everyone thinking of applying to?

so far for me its leicester, leeds, sheffield, and duno for 4th.. althought my mind will probably change after open days!
For me, I think Oxford, UCL, King's and Birmingham, although that could well change as I'm really sad that I'm not applying to Imperial... I'm definitely booking all of the open days so I have a clearer picture.

Gosh it's going to be a lot of trouble getting to all of the open days! I am considering Imperial, it looks amazing but i am not sure if i can afford to live in london or if i would suit the london lifestyle. Hmm.

Well, i have my reasons why i want to be a dr (the usual + other things) which i will say at interview, but not on the internet - i don't want people trying to impersonate me!

Out of interest, why have you chosen Oxford over Cambridge Glint?

Hi everyone! Sooo...medicine 2010 eh? Well, me too. Incredibly nervous and excited! Don't you find you've been thinking about it for so long that you can't believe it's actually happening?
Also, quick question, has anyone had much success with applying for work experience/volunteering at hospitals? I keep getting told that under 18 is too young to even work in the cafe, or that they aren't recruiting. Anyone else having the same issues?

Don't worry about getting work experience in hospitals hamzah. Normally, only people with relatives such as doctors get such oppertunities! It seems a bit unfair really.

You generally have to be 18 for hopital/hospice/old people homes. However, Universities realise this so if i were you look around for any youth clubs such as rainbows/scouts you could help out there. Or do mentoring at your school. Also helping out in charities shops is another good idea. Don't worry about what you do its what you learn about yourself from it

It making me really excited about applying talking to all of you!
