    Big man.....

Good luck with your applications, don't forget to write your UCAS like that! Of course, everyone understands it, admissions tutors especially.

No worries. Best of luck...the forums are the best bit of help you will ever get in applying to medicine...they got me in!The simple fact is if that you really want to do medicine, you will get a place (with a little luck! There are plenty of people who are having to reapply here who really should have got in). I'm sorry if I came across a little harshly, just trying to boost your mindset!

thanks mayte .. can i just ask you.. i'v filled in a application form for volunteering at bolton hospice for ward duties.. they provide services to terminally ill patients, and my duties would be to serve patients drinks, food etc, and to talk to them and give them company, the minimum time you have to stay on is 6 month, so hopefully if i get in, with that, and my 1 week work ex i will be doing in a hospital in july shadowing doctors in all departments, and a weeks work ex which im going to try and get in my local gp... would that be sufficient work experience? and also if i dont get the work ex at the gp, so only the hospital and six month at bolton hospice, would that still be enough?

    thanks

That is damn good work experience if you can get it, gold dust. I would say that if you managed to do that for 4-6 months, it would be sufficient alone even!

    You get to

a.) develop your communications skills with the patients.
b.) get used to a health care environment
c.) understand the roles of different health care professionals/team work etc etc
d.) get to talk to doctors/nurses/medical students.
