Keeping it quiet?

As an A-level student, how long did everyone wait before informing friends/relatives etc about intentions to enter medicine?
I know this is a weird question, but although I've been studying prospectuses etc for about a year (I'm an A.S. student,) I'm too much of a wuss to start telling people in case I don't make the grades. Any thoughts?

I have no idea to be honest...Always wanted to do medicine but probably told people when they asked about universities-the question about 'what course?' always followed

Hehe, don't worry, only tell when you want to, but I'm sure you have nothing to worry about!
Welcome to the board!
