Hehe, go for it... I now wish I had the kind of parents to have an in-depth career argument with. As it is, the strongest opinions about medicine in my family are largely concerned with sl*gging off Dr So-and-So at the surgery, for telling them to stop eating so much cheese, or something.
Yep, I'll tell 'em.. soon enough it'll be... 'Igorina, what do you think of this rash on yer Dad's elbow?'

'I couldn't really say mum... better wait 'til I finish my A2s first..'

Cheers everyone.

I 'lost' my parents when I left a well paid job to go back to college, so, nope!

Ignorina, I know what you mean, my mother trusts wikipedia more than her GP. But saying that, he's a really good example of why some uni's don't like you to bang on about being a 'scientist' - great mind, crap with people!

What do you mean by 'backing' Gizmo? I have a mental image of a posse of determined pre-meds waving biology textbooks and looking menacing Hey - that's the population of this thread...

hmmm personal letting people know isn't really a good idea at this stage i guess...ppl will go 'ooohhh there's a medic' and start teasing you abt this and that..and go on about like you are dreaming..then the pressure start mounting...hmmm the best way would be 'answer only when asked specifically' and also to ppl you can relate well to..
