Few unis want three sciences.
Either maths or eng would be good. I'd say maths though, cause it will help you with Chemistry especially. Theres loads of maths in chem, so it will be really useful!!
I say go for maths!

Personally, I d say pick the one you think you will enjoy the most. I`d do english, but thats just me.Its a total myth that you need maths A-level in medical school; most maths you do is pre-GCSE level, and for the stats there are always snazzy textbooks which will explain it all. Most medical schools say that they encourage non-science A levels; studying english might well make you stand out from the biol-chem-maths rank and file medical applicant. Oxbridge are probs the only places that not having maths would put you at a disadvantage, places such as UCL would actually give credit for being a more wellrounded person academically.
Then you have the education for education's sake argument. Forget medicine, forget getting in; which subject do you think that will open your mind the most? Because even though Welsh has no relevance to the course, I can honestly say that that was the A-level that challenged me the most, that really got me thinking. Literature deals with humanity, and by studying and empathising with various charecters in a novel or a emotion such as grief expressed in a poem you get a perspective that you just wouldnt should you chose to spend the next two years banging on a caucilator. Theres more to medicine than science, and I think you stand to gain if you include more than science in your Alevel choices.

Neither? Then again I like reading for pleasure and maths just makes me cry most of the time.

I'd say out of the two though to take maths - you may not need 3 sciences at A2, but you're going to be in a minority not having 3 to AS.

OK, I've had a look at the admissions database on - Medical Admissions : Medical Schools - (sorry, folks, it's still not online to all!) and have summarised what the many schools basically want.

For a 'standard' english school leaver doing A-levels over 2 years, they want AAB (exceptions: Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial) (exceptions to predictions: Newcastle, Birmingham).
The majority of medical schools insist upon A2 Chemistry. A lot (still a small majority) insist upon AS Biology.

After that, the only restrictions are:
General Studies is NOT counted.
Critical Thinking is NOT counted.
Key Skills is NOT counted.

And 'double' restrictions are:
Math/Further Math/Statistics in combination will only ever be counted as 1.

Basically, as long as you do Biology & Chemistry, you can choose whatever you want. Don't let people on this forum guide you, choose whatever you feel is best for you.

Regards,
