I did "AQA Biology" in AS and droped it in A2. And its purely because it was all about food chains, plants, ecosystems and had very little HUMAN BIOLOGY in it (unlike AS).
Well in AQA Biology there's a whole A2 unit dedicated to physiology (hardly any plant stuff, almost completely human).

I shall say this again - that is not necessarily causation and is more likely to be correlation. Just because more Medical students do all sciences doesn't actually mean that all sciences are prefered.
