    AS-Levels - Am I Ok?

    Heya,

I'm currently doing Chemistry, Biology, French and PE for AS level (as well as General Studies and Critical Thinking) Will I be ok for getting into a medical school? (I'm planning to drop PE at end of As's

I've already done lots of work experience and i'm doing gold DofE, YE, Training to be a ski instructor, Grade 8 Drama and Grade 5 piano amongst other things. Will this stand me in good enough stead?

    Many thanks,

    Millie x

yeh youre subjects are good but you havent taken into consideration the possibility that you may have to frop french and keep PE which im not sure is looked at very well as a 3rd Alevel.

Im doing Biology, Chemistry and English for my A2s and they are good subjects to apply to med school with as it shows im all rounded. French is probably looked at better and is (imo) a harder Alevel.

    good luck
    GCSE: 5As 4Bs 2Cs
    Shocking AS results but:
A2 Predictions: ABB - English, Chemistry and Biology

May want to e-mail indivdual Medical Schools with regard to the PE. Some consider it as an overlapping subject with Biology like the Maths, Further Maths malarky.

    Everything else is fine...

That's a good point. I was adamant that I was going to drop Psychology and keep Physics. It didn't quite work out like that though.

Same, I wanted to drop Physics, but it ended up being History. To be honest I'm glad I did it.
You'll have problems applying to #traditional' med schools like Cambridge and Imperial with your A-levels.

Do medical schools like linguists? I am currently resitting my Gcses and was wondering if doing a gcse in a foreign language would be beneficial to my future application.

No more beneficial than Geography or History...

Although if you want to do it, or really feel you'd get an A/A* in it, then it's worth considering.
