Putting Grades As Pending?
Hi,
I plan on putting the subjects that I am continuing to A2 as pending. is this allowed as it is possible that my AS grades are cashed in even though I plan to do a lot of retakes in January.
Also do Uni's frown on those who put their grades as pending?
I have declared my AS Physics grades as I am not continuing it to A2.
Regards,

My head of year told me there is no advantage to cashing in your grades so I don't think any unis frown upon it. Many schools don't cash in their year 12's AS results........mine are all going as pending as well
edit: and if you were to cash in your grades then there'd be no point in re-sitting any of your modules.....BIRMINGHAM FRESHER 09

I was told by my exams office that all students grades are cashed in? However on UCAS I get the option of choosing pending? Since I can't give a full A-Level grade. I'm confused...

Mine were cashed in because i changed sixth forms med A-levels (very long story..) and i resat.
I wouldnt bother putting the grades on unless they are really good, e.g. all A's. Otherwose dont bother. They get your predicted grades in your reference, and this is what they really look at.

But i heard that not cashing in your grades makes the university assume that u did not do well... I mean if you get 4A's, u would be proud to tell them....its like they read in between the lines but am still not declaring mine considering the fact I got ABBB

Lol i dont think its a good idea to put them as pending. At least i was told you have to put your AS Grades - but you dont have to put unit grades in.
But they only put emphasis on your predicted grades. But trust me if u have A' & B's PUT THEM DOWN. I would think Uni's will prefer some1 predicted 3 A's with AS results of A's & B's backing that up, than just a blank pages saying "PENDING".Last edited by TEO; 21-09-2008 at 05:58 PM.

I've been told we have to put our AS's. We can't put them down as pending even if we resit cause that will only change our A2 not the AS grade for that subject. ( I didnt think this was the case, but the head of sixth form is insistent.)
