    Worth trying anyway?

I applied to medical school last year as a mature student and got rejected from everywhere.
At the same time, I did my AS and A-level Bio at night school (plus working 2 jobs) in a year to get my (then) required AAB grades.

This year I find that virtually everywhere requires AAA! Does anyone have a comprehensive list of AAB offering medical schools which are also mature student friendly. What with working 2 jobs, county rugby and marathon training, I don't have the time to commit to doing another A level.

Also, as a mature student, would it be worth applying for an AAA course? Are the entry requirements any different for those with a bit of life experience?

In all honesty, I'm not expecting to get a place this year, what with last year's total rejection fiasco, but I figure it might be worth a shot and I'll try applying in other countries if necessary to get a place!

write to the med skools involved, who might be prepared to waive AAA requirements if they were AAB last year.

only they can tell you the truth macca.

PS i would suggest avoiding kings becos they are the kings of *unt when it comes to understanding a mature student.

Thanks! I really wanted to apply to Newcastle (considering my bro got in on ABB!) and yeah, it was a bit of a shock to see they wanted AAA!

Anyway, I'm trying to see if my local college will let me do evening AS and A level psychology in a year, which will mean that I could apply anywhere with the intention of working my butt off to get an A!

If you take another year to do another A level they might consider you a resit student even though you aren't actually resitting. Just see where accepts AAB and apply there, most places take loads of matures these days.
