I have had a meeting with my head of sixth form today and she has said that i will not be able to repeat year 12 after disappointing as results and so im stuck on what i should do now. A breakdown of my results are:
Biology - 68/100 c
60/100 c
60/100 c
Chemistry - 56/90 d
34/90 u
84/120 b
geography - 79/105 b
66/105 c
66/90 b
psychology - 65/100 c
73/100 b
66/100 c
I just dont know what to do now and im so depressed about the whole situation. I was thinking of deffering my a2 exams in january and sitting those in june instead and then doing all of my resits in jan but because i need to resit 8 units im so confused and my school are not helping at all. Im confused about what units i should resit aswell. i was hoping for aab in geog bio and chem but everything just seems like it is out of my reach. im hoping you could offer me advice as to what i should do because i really cant see a way out of this and im so upset.

Those grades are recoverable!

It just means that you're going to have to work extremely hard this year. You should really resit all the units you did badly in this January! So get working NOW. Don't wait until school term.

All the best...

hey same situation that happened to me i took chem physcis and maths and got ccb in them and all i did was re-sit every little one of them fockers and carried on the A2s as usuall just make sure u get ur head down from the beginning of the year. can i just ask?was there any reason for these grades ie lack of concentration in lessons, poor revision technique?

ok revision technique is easy to change, and hopefully circumstances will be better this time around. if you willing to drop a subject it will lighten ur load immensly?
it really is a case of revising solid for a few months before exams just revising ur techniques i mean mine is to learn write notes re-learn then change the notes then learn from the notes. then bare exams papers. maybe u could try all different techniques i mean teachers usually have loads but you do say yours are no help at all so i suppose theres the recording urself take notes.

i just never really put much effort into revision - i read my notes loads and loads before each exam but never really took stuff whcih is the reason. i might make notes from my notes and revise those. im just scared that by doing 2/3 of my ASs again i might bring down everything else and then what happens if it doesnt pay off?

look u need to realise this re-sit usually ups grades by quite a lot. i mean ive known people who get Us in As then re-sit and get A overall so it can be done. Lose a subject then thats 6 exams including re-sits gone. Then u only have say like 8 in jnuary and 8 in june so it is very workble and put effort into revision if you want it to work. i mean if they wont let u re-atke the year. what other choice do you have but to wrok ur ass off?
