Will these A Levels Be Accepted at Leicester Uni?

Hey everybody,

I am in the process of thinking of the A Levels I want to do this year and need to decide by Monday/Tues. I would really like to do Medicine at Leicester Uni.

I'm thinking of choosing Chemistry, Biology, Law and Sociology and then in the second year I would drop the Law and have full A Levels in Chemistry, Biology and Sociology.

I know what you're thinking.......why the Law?

I'm thinking of doing AS Law just in case at the end of the AS's I feel that I can't aim for Medicine and want to do Law at Uni instead - which would mean that I drop the Chemistry or Biology i nthe second year.

Please tell me if I would or not be accepted on the Medicine with these A Levels in the appropriate grades. Thanks a lot (in advance!!)

I don't think you should have any problems with any of those options, but I would urge you to just give the admissions office a call to the medical schools you will be wanting to apply to. Explain the situation and take their advice.

Most medical schools request biology and chemistry, and are very open minded about the other options. I can't really see any problems with those as they are academic subjects but yes I would definately contact the admissions departments of which medical schools you wish to apply to.

Leicester usually request that you get an A grade for A-level Chemistry - so be prepared for that.

And biology at least to AS Level lol They are quite flexible about which subjects you choose as long as you have AS Biology/A Level Chemistry well thats what they said at the 2006 open day!

I would fail at Chemistry if I didn't take Maths!
