That's ridiculous, of course you can still get into medical school with AABB, I know someone who got in with BBBB. Just make sure you choose your medical schools carefully. Don't choose poncy ones that require the top grades. Most medical schools aren't too bothered about AS grades as long as you get a B in the subject you drop for A2 (if you drop a subject).

Work experience is vital, there's no point applying to medicine with no work experience. It shows you have evidence for choosing medicine.
    Voluntary work is also useful.

As far as the quality Vs quantity thing goes, I think get as much as you can and the best you can get.

Don't panic. Very good results. A guy I know got into Kings this year with BBCC at AS Level. Most schools don't give a toss over AS grades, honestly.
It's mainly GCSE, UKCAT and predictions for the first academic screening. Then it's personal statemeant and reference for interview decisions, then interview performance for who gets offers.

You don't need all A's because most offers are AAB at A-Level. I would of been over the moon with your results!

Out of interest, where are you applying?

Tiz true, you could get EEEE in your AS-levels as long as you get predicted AAB (or AAA for some) and meet your offer at A2. This said, people getting into Medical schools with less than AAB is immensely unheard of these days because competition is gettin so much tougher. Ensure you get A's in Biology & Chemistry in the end and a B in whatever else you do.

If you think those courses would suit you, go for it!
Remember at Southampton there is no interview offered for home undergraduates. So your chance to impress is grades and p/s (and reference) only. However if I got aabb AS-levels I would have applied to Southampton. I have a feeling they may actually look at AS grades due to not interviewing?

Correct me if I'm wrong anybody!
