    Darn Maths!

A couple of days ago my As level choices were all maped out :-

    Chemistry
    Biology
    Physics
    and Psychology

but since getting my GCSE results, things have changed...

after reciving my result, I noticed that I had done well in everything, a part from one subject...Maths. I had missed out on a C by a few marks.

Today I recieved a letter from the college I applied to, to confirm my place, and they told me that I couldnt do Psychology because I missed on 8 marks on my paper

I now have researched my other options, and see that Human Biology has a place that I can take. I'm really happy with this as I love Biology and REALLY the only subjects out of my choices that I'm not too worried about but here is my worry.....Will Med schools wonder or even reject me because all my courses are sciencey????

    Help please xx x

Do you mean you intend on perhaps replacing Psychology with Human Biology, as well as keeping 'normal' Biology? If so, I strongly advise against this; the vast majority of Medical schools now ask for 4 AS's and 3A2's, all of which must be different subjects. I also don't understand why they wont let you do Psychology & will let you do Physics - did you type it wrong, lol?

Finally, do you intend on re-sitting your Maths GCSE? I highly recommend that you do and pull it up to the very least a grade C.

Thanks for the advice! I had predicted that would be the case, so thank you for clarification.

I had thought of re-sitting the exam, but dont predict that I would do that much butter. But I will give it much more thought.

    btw soz for mistype lol

    thanx again xxx

If you're not very good at maths, are you sure that you'll be able to do well at physics?
There's a lot of Maths that go along with the subject

Well I hope so, I can do the basics and I'm not to bad with equations and things, but I'll adimit I struggle with the harder stuff, have you picked physics, is there a lot of maths in it?

    I've picked physics yeah.
I'll be doing it for AS

It's mainly formulae, so you should be okay if you can think rationally, but there are some parts of AS level maths that you'll need to be brought up to speed on

Angharad - Medical schools are more likely to reject you because you don't have a grade C or B in maths at GCSE, than doing all science subjects at AS.
I would recommend re-sitting your maths GCSE.
