    Changing exam boards- please help!

    Hey everyone,

I've found a local college where i can study AS Chemistry on an evening. However, they have said that they very rarely offer Chemistry at A2 Level. So if i do the AS with them i will probably have to find another college to sit the A2. Now there is another college a bit further away from me where i could do the A2 in a years time. However, the colleges both use different exam boards for Chemistry. So my question is, if i did the AS and then had to do the A2 at a different college would i be able to transfer the credits from one exam board to another??? I'm not sure that i've explained this very well at all

I don't think you can transfer the modules between the exam boards; for it to count as a full A-Level, you'd have to do both the AS and the A2 with the same board. You'd need to consider how similar the exam boards are. I'm in a similar situation - I have an A-Level with CCEA from school, but my nearest college only offers AQA, so I could be taking AQA classes for a CCEA exam (which may have different topics) and I'm not sure how sensible that is.

Thanks for the replies guys. I think i'm gonna play it safe and go to the college a bit further away so that i can just carry on with the A2 after AS without the worry of having to change colleges.
