I hated chem and still do. especially since i'm in second yr and so far my GCSE knowlegde of chem had surficed. On the other hand A2 biology has been far more useful and relavent to the course. i never really saw the relavance of chem at all. What does all that rubbish have to do with medicine, pharmacy yes its great, medicine no. My opinion was that because chem is the hardest A level you can do, med schools think if you can do that you can do anything.
As regards tips, past paper questions and lots of them. Once you've done it forget everything and remember your biology.
good luckRemember, you can have it all

Well, as I'm doing the medical course, I can see why the study skills used in chemistry would be especially relevant (if not the knowledge...!) A-level Biology's definitely coming up everywhere.

You see my posts? You see them? This is what happens when you spend four years or so not saying what you're thinking. Especially when you like to. What happens is that everything explodes out of you in a propogating verbose horror that you cannot make yourself control. Don't let this happen to you, kids.

hmmm i find chem more useful in general to understand all my sciences but also use them all. But i guess in terms of medicine bio will be more useful than any other.
for me chem is easier because even tho bio is interestin the workloads is far more
for OCR(Salters) Revise A2 Chemistry -Dave Newton, Alasdaire Thorpe and Chris Otter is really helpful.(´¯• .,¸¸,.¤°Wherever the art of medicine is loved, there is also love for humanity!°¤.¸¸,¸.•´¯)

even tho this post is old im gonna give my opinion
all last year i said that 'who says chemistry is the hardest subject?'
i found biology so hard to meorise, its all factual recall
compared with chem, ou can learn a small amount and then use the same/similar principles to many other areas
saying that i got above 90ums in all bio units and AAB in my 3 chem units.

I *love* biology; it's always fascinated me. At AS I couldn't stand (or stay awake) in Chemistry, and I only got an A because my Coursework scored perfect marks and my modules were high B's.
This year however (A2), I'm finding that Chemistry is easier to score marks on, if you've revised it enough. In Chemistry, you're either right or wrong. However, in Biology, you can know the answer, and just have a bad day and miss out a crucial word and therefore half the marks. Annoying when you know the answer really!
I'm loving both subjects at the moment anyway.

this is highly insulting and completely uncalled for. many people struggle with there A levels and people like you don't help. chemistry is the hardest A level you can do.

yes people struggle, but if you put in the work there is no reason why people can't do well.
