Exclamation 2008 A-level Shakeup

Hey All,

We all know that from 2008 they are going to change A-levels- the specification upon other things.

But when is this exactly ?

Do the new A-level specifications begin Sep 2007 for the first AS exam results in August 2008 OR Does it start completly form Sep 2008 ?

I am so confused, does this mean that those on the AS courses now, can only resit next year as the exam boards will cease to create the 'OLD SPECIFICATION' exam papers ?

Does anyone know ?

My mum is a teacher it is for first teaching FROM September 2008 ie all those going into sixth form in sept 2008 will have the A level shake up. The exception to this is maths and further maths. I think they are coming in for 2012 because they only just redid the specs. If its like it was with maths when I started sixth form in the new syllabus, people who started the old syllabus maths in year 12 would retake on the old syllabus until a certain deadline ( I think it was like March 2 years after they brought it in). After that any further modules would have to be taken on the new syllabus and everything else transferred across.

Hope this helps.
