    I would probably sort out your GCSEs before starting A Levels. By retaking a few of them (e.g. getting at least Cs in Maths, English and Science) it would mean you met the minimum entry requirements for most medical schools, and also prepare you for the A Levels.

    A lot of med schools ask for at least a B in maths and English language. I got a C in English language and I'm resitting as a lot of med schools want a grade B. Even if you do sciences at a higher level they are still likely to want A*-B in your gcse sciences. As Miss Monkey said i would probably resit your gcse's, then you can look at an access course when your 19.

    Some places like Kings will accept English at AS/A level in leiu of grade B at GCSE. But I would assume you would need to achieve a high grade on this too. And not many places will accept this in place of the GCSE grade B.
