Human Biology or Biology A Level?
I have looked on the forums to see if there were any posts relating to this but I couldn't find any. I have to go to a new Sixth Form College because of personal problems and the the only A Level college in the city does Human Biology. I really want to study medicine but I can't continue my studies at my current sixth form where I do normal Biology will I be elligible to apply still if I do Human Biology at A level, I know Southampton (where I am applying) accepts it but what about the following:
Leeds 2008
Leicester 2008
Sheffield 2008
Thanks for any replies.

they all accept it.
study support for 'omo biology isnt as good as for straight biology.
so watch out if yuo switch, dubbly so, cos you may need to put in more efort to land that grade.
its also the more appropriate match for medical degrees of course, mind. no plants, see."...reminds me of childhood memories,

Thanks I can see what you are saying, I'm doing straight Biology now but I can't stay where I am right now its too distressing. I need to sort this out quickly as I don't want to fall behind and the college said I colud start as soon as Monday if my references come quickly.

Then there's no real decision to make... your grades are going to suffer if you stay in a sixth form where you are suffering. I made the mistake of staying somewhere I was having problems, don't do the same!

i'm from australia and i'm starting my victorian certificate of education (v.c.e for short) and i would just like to know if year 12 (final year of high school) unit 3/4 biology is equivalent to an A level Biology subject?
I'm not familiar with the english-school system

Thanks for replies this is my AS year and right now I'm waiting for the reference to come through, the sixth form I'm currently at have not been understanding at all about my asthma and my mum being unwell and have been messing with my EMA (they own me £90) and I just felt generally isolated.

Human or normal
So, which are u studying? How's it going?
I study in Scotland, and had never studied Biology at all until this yr doing Higher Human Biology. Found it hard at first but going better than Chemistry & I have studied that for like ever!
Hope things worked out 4 u.

I did AS Human Biology, and touch wood have had no problems with my application so far. I obviously looked about and only applied to unis which did not require A2 Biology/Human Biology, as I will not have it (due to shortage of numbers meaning the course wasn't run.) So far I have an offer from Manchester, and an interview at Leicester.
GKT First Year
Applied for 2007 entry to: GKT, Barts, Manchester & Leicester
