Exclamation URGENT Advice needed - plz help!

Ok here's the situation, I got a C in AS Chemistry and I need a predicted grade A for A2 from my head of chemistry. Anybody got any helpful suggestions about how I'm gonna convince her to predict me an A?

I already thought about getting her to make me do a module test to prove I can go from a C to an A (I've been revising module 3 since I got my results and I feel pretty confident that I could get an A if she were to test me).

Do you think this would be convincing enough or should I try doing something else?

Many thanks,

Jassy

I think all you can do is explain to her your situation and why you really need her to put your predicted grade down as an A. Maybe if you have an explanation as to why you got a C when you are obviously capable of getting an A (even if it's 'because I was being lazy but now I'm commited to trying harder') will help your case. Yes offering to do a mock exam will probably help you too, but at the end of the day you have to remember taht her job is to predict a grade that is what she honestly thinks you will achieve, not the grade your hoping for.

Good Luck

Was it just one module that let you down? If so, then that's a point in your favour, an if you can do much better in it now, that'll help. Other things:

1) Pay a lot of attention in class, always put your hand up to answer questions, and ask 'what if...' questions to show you're really interested and have read around the subject. You might feel like a bit of a boff, but remember why you're doing it.
2) Spend time on your homework and revise thoroughly for tests - show her you're capable of As.
3) Explain why this time around you'll do better - ie are motivated to get an A for medical school, any mistakes you made last year that you've learnt from, etc.

I think you're going to have to be prepared to eat, breathe and sleep chemistry for the foreseeable future. All in a good cause. Can you resit any module?

But for the love of all that is good and true don't neglect your other subjects so much that you get your predicted A and then a predicted B in biology...

hey. it must b really tough for u rite now. i was in a similar position last yr with biology (got a B) and my teachers predicted me an A/B... I got an A tho! also with Maths - i was only 5 marks off an A but the bloody teachers still wudn't predict me an A - probs cuz i only did intermediate at GCSE. neways i did get an A at A level...
imo it really depends on ur teachers... cuz altho the biology department was evil at my college the chem department was surprisingly lenient! they predicted As to quite a few ppl who got a C and wanted to do med or chem at uni...
u really need to put across that u will NOT get an interview newhere if ur not predicted an A or atleast a B - which is a bit of an over-exagerration lol but hopefully it will get the job done. also u cud tell her bout the case that my chem teacher told me bout - apparently a girl was predicted a B or sumin lower for chem and got an A at A level. But she got no interviews and believed strongly that this was the reason so she was suing the school...lol!
mayb u cud also tell her how u've done all this w/e and the higher grades u got in other subjects (hopefully...) and say how that chem is the only thing holding u back and evrything will go to waste if she duzn't predict u an A!
ok i cnt htink of nethin else. hope this helps!

A girl in my class got a C in her chemistry AS. She's really bright and was expected to get an A. She's resitting 2 modules in January because she said if she resits one module she may only be able to bring the C up to a B at best. Plus she has to take the module 4 with the rest of us. Hopefully it will work out for her.
