    I've taken a massive risk this year and re-applied because I got a poor UKCAT again (but I've gained an extra point) which, along with other factors, have ruled me out of the majority of unis. I wasn't going to apply at all this year because of my UKCAT but I have nothing to lose (apart from my £19) so I though that I may as well apply. I've made improvements on the PS and reference so hopefully I can get 10 this time. We'll see what happens.
    what ukcat score di u get coz i hav applied to leicester and got 550?

    3 = 2:1 and a-levels below ABC.

    This is what i've heard anyway and is part of the reason i wanted to apply to leicester as it would mean i would hold 9/10 for academic and UKCAT marks which i hope would stand a good chance of gaining an interview.
    That's interesting - where did you get it from? The admissions office told me that they don't even look at the A-level results of GEP applicants.

    I found this info out from the leicester med school website last year although i havnt been able to find it again this year which does make me think they may have changed their criteria slightly. I just thought this was a logical way or marking graduate academic scores but tbh i really dont have anymore idea what the admissions team will be looking for than anyone else. A lot of med schools now say that as long as an applicant gets a 2:1 they will have the same chance as someone with a 1:1 so maybe they have altered it towards these sorts of lines.

    The only info I have is from their website really. I did send an e-mail asking for advice a couple of months ago really just to check my pre-university background would be okay as I only took two GCSEs although I do have five A-levels.

    Too late to worry now anyway! We'll just have to watch and wait

    From what I gathered from the open day, academics are score like this for undergraduates:

    5/5 = AAA, 3A* GCSE
    4/5 = AAA, <3A* GCSE / AAB, 3A* GCSE
    3/5 = AAB, <3A* GCSE

    Where the A level grades are predicted.

    Hey i think a lowest score of 600 gives you 3/5, i think the scoring works so that >600 = 4/5 not 600=4/5
