2000 apply, 700 get interviews, 350 get offer, 200 accept. Though apparently loads more people accepted the offers this year, so maybe less offers will be given out for the new cycle.

Well, I've deferred my place from last year sooo that means one less place available for you guys. =P
A good topic for discussion when asked to talk about something recent would be the 'opt out proposal for organ donors' you could discuss the reasons why the BMA have turned it down for now and offer your own views (always give both sides to an arguement). =)
If you don't know what I'm talking about, you should have watched BBC Breakfast like I told you to. (^^,) Try researching it.

Luckily for me I had organ donation as a topic in a debating competition. Had to propose 'Organ Donation should become compulsory in the UK'. And somehow I won the debate (as well as progessing on to the next round )
Admittedly my opponents were a bit cack - you don't need to morally object (in which case I'll simply reel off a bunch of laws that can't stop from doing what it wants via various loopholes), but instead talk about the destruction of the doctor-patient relationship and the overload of our infrastructure (which can't cope - 400 to 800 organs become available daily, but only 5-8 transplants are carried out)

Lectures and group work every day
The modules run alongside each other - you have different modules each day of the week
