Tbh it would be a waste of choice......they clearly state on their website and prospectus that they want an 'A' in chemsitry so you might want to re-think your options

Leicester is somewhere which specifies an A in chemsitry so getting through would be difficult. Other medical schools will accept a B in chemsity (as part of AAB) whereas others will allow you to bypass chemistry altogether and offer Biology instead. The some places (such as Nottingham) decide to be nasty and ask for A in both chemistry and biology.

The methods of deciding vary at the different universities. It is good to look at the prospectus for each one you are interested in and weigh up your chances so that you can maximise your chance of getting in. At the same time though if your heart is set on Leicester Medical School all hope is not lost. Though any offer would almost definitely specify an A in chemistry so regardless of the prediction you would need to achieve the A grade.

It all depends on whether or not you think you're capable of an A in chemistry because even if they interview you, if you don't get that A in Alevel chem you won't meet your conditional offer, they will reject you come results day and hence a wasted place.

It shouldn't affect your chances of interview heavily though, aslong as everything else is really strong.
