Zidza, you obviously did not read the other posts very well. UKCAT is marked seperatley from academic ability. You get marked out of 5 for 1.Academic ability (GCSE, A levels)
2. UKCAT score
3. Personal statement
4. Reference
NEED 16 out of 20 to get interview.

i have im just saying that UKCATS are ukcats and tehy are scored under that section and A levels would be scored under academics and this is a UKCAT and leicester thread so it should be in a different thread. like another one where i have posted with the details you have posted above.

Are you sure about that? You need 16/20 every year to get an interview, or you did need 16/20 for an interview last year? In which case is would be NEEDED 16 out of 20 to get interview last year.

I haven't heard of any Medical School keeping a fixed cut off point every year. They generally adjust the cut off depending on the quality of applicants.

i would assume without any knowledge that it would stay the same.

I would think they would do the 16 and if and only if they dont have enough intervieews they will allow those who scored lower to get an interview. its not really like UKCATS where it varies and they take a cut off depending on the quality of that year group. Do you see where im coming from?

E-mail from Leicester:

"We will be taking UKCAT scores into consideration along with academic achievement, personal statement and reference.

It is unlikely that an otherwise strong candidate would be rejected simply on the basis of the UKCAT score.
"

how many points would AAB be according to leicester provided there is an A in chem.

Wil they look at the UKCAT as a whole this year or only the lowest scored section?

Thanks

i dont think they look at ukcat too much as i got an interview last year with an average of bout 595. also the interview was scored out of 48 nd u need 45 to get in, i got 38 . i wont be applyin there agen as they dont recommend it, also the interview is very formal not a friendly chat like they say. i cud hav jus bin unluky as i was pestered about a lot of medical news, which none of the other interviewees in my group got. i also got asked the weirdest question which i stupidly answered - who is your hero?

What did you answer to that??

When did they tell you applicants shouldn't reapply, did they give you feed back on your rejection? I've seen that mentioned here a couple of times but I think it's strange, thought they would give ppl a second chance if they are keen enough to apply again and if they improve their application.
