Hi,
am thinking about leicester for entry in 2006. i have chemistry degree so won't be considered for the leicester-warwick GEPS - damn! on the 5 year course, are there many oldies at leicester (me 40 something),
I know that about 10% of the students on the 5 year Medicine degree are mature students (over 21). Most are in theit 20's and some in their 30's. I have not met anyone here myself who was over 40 when they started Medicine but that does not mean that they would not consider your application. Best thing would be to contact the admissions tutor, Dr. Kevin West. There is an open day on April 29th.
Medical schools are changing their attitudes towards age, the oldest medical student in the UK is 52yrs old!!. There is a range of ages at Leicester, however I believe the more mature student is 43yrs old, there are a few in their 30's and the majority are teens and early 20's. Regardless of age anyway as you will definitley not be alienated at all, everyone mixes extremely well.
