bradford clinical sciences foundation year medicine
i have a couple a questions about the transfer if someone can help me please if you are an applicant or a ex or a current student i would be delighted if you could help me as this june i have 9 exams mainly module retakes i wanted to get AAA but then looking at this offer they want CC so do you think if i got BBC in the end of A level i have a chance with leeds presuming i get 70% average. so really the core of my question is does A level matter when transferring.
also are these exams that intense to not be able to get 70% because me personally i dont socialise much and a hardcore worker so if i aim to get 100% i will do my utter best,
and do i need to get a first pass or can i retake any modules in my foundation if i have too?
also do i need to do UKCAT and is it realistically hard to get in to leeds, like what are they looking for academically.
kind regards and thanks in advance

Hey i myself have done the clinical sciences programme foundation and yr 1 and transferred from year 1. Firstly your Alevels if your offer is for cc and you have the grades or will seriously no point resitting and getting As unless you want to reapply to medicine direct. This is because when the transfer process is taking place you start from a clean slate no a level info or anything as such just whether you have the 70 or not. Also the exams are a step up from A levels alot of yr 1 medicine biochem wise is covered and are not easy however totally possible to achieve the 70 but you must start hard work day one!
Next UKCAT no never been asked for it once transferred so dont worry about that and yes it is a very hard process is getting only harder very competitive as more ppl are taken on at clin sci however if you put your mind into it there is no stopping you.
BTW no resits allowed if you do your out of the running first time pass!
GOOD LUCK!

I got in through clinical sciences, and no they dont look at anything like a levels and gcses just your grade from clin sci, and work exp.
I say just focus on your studies. Dont do resits for a levels, do clin sci and get your 70% then when you get your clin sci results, you go ahead with the medicine application and make your personal statement awesome and then really prepare for the interview! Also make sure you have a wide range of work exp. gp surgery, hospital and voluntary care work are musts.
Good luck! This course is all about motivation and hard work!
