Leeds interview

Hey!

I had an interview at Dundee.

My lost causes were Warwick GEP and Leicester. Don't even know why I applied to warwick. As far as Leicster is concerned, I was extremely upset at them. They had initially told me that they "highly encourage me to apply" based on all the information I provided (transcript, UKCAT score, and personal statement). Then they reject me without an interview and have absolutely no "valid" reason. Calling them, was completely another story.

Anyways, I'm hoping for Leeds or Dundee...yay! The people at Dundee are super nice!

Congrats on St. Andrews! They are known to accept a lot of Canadians and I think its nice that you do a couple of years at Manchester. If you get into St. Andrews and Leeds, what will most likely be your first choice? Just curious, because Leeds is a 5 year program and St. Andrews is a 6 year program.

Let me know what happens once you find out from Leeds

No, I haven't heard anything from Leeds so far, just hoping they would tell me within a week or so.
As for my other applications, I had two interviews, St. Andrews and Nottingham. I got an offer from St.A but still awaiting Nottingham... And Kings' was a lost cause lolz, don't know why I wasted that option. O well!

Awww... You are still better off, my sister had an interview at Leicester and she actually thought it went VERY WELL and yet she was rejected... I think that's a lot worse! Nonetheless, I am sure whatever happens is for the best! So good luck with both Dundee and Leeds! Hope you get in both!
Guess what! I got my offer from Nottingham yesterday! I personally saw the place (the interview was there) and I loved it! I think Nottingham is my first choice... Though I have heard a lot about Leeds reputation too. As for St.A, my sister will be going there and that's why I wanted to go. But I am not sure if I will anymore though.
If I get into Leeds, it will be more of a choice between Notts and Leeds not St. A and Leeds, Lolz
For now, I am happy... Lolz

Yeah....I heard that most people who do get an interview at Leicester think it goes very well! I guess that's just the way they work!
Well, at least your sister has an offer at St. Andrews. Is your sister also a highschool graduate? Which other unis did she apply to?

Well, I like the fact that you do some schooling in Manchester if you go to St. Andrews. But then, it all boils down to the # of years the program is as well. I've never really seen Leeds, St. Andrews or Nottingham.
The reason I applied to Leeds is b/c I have heard good things about Leeds as far as their reputation is concerned.
I applied to Dundee since it was ranked #1 in "the Guardian" .....their interview format was multiple mini interviews....it was a good experience for me!

Can I just ask, what made you apply to the UK? Are you planning to come back to Canada once you're done?

Hi again!!
Umm my sister is in gr.12 right now, her offers are conditional... We are still kind of stuck deciding where she will be going as well... Like at first it was a definite for St.A for both of us... like its a new place so if we are together its good right... but because of my Nottingham offer, she is leaning toward her UEA offer, because it will be closer to Notts.. So well that is that! Her other choices were Leicester and Cardiff... both unsuccessful... Not waiting for anything, just has to make her choice.
I really like your choices, I hadn't researched much into the ranking before I applied so ya... lolz
For now, just want to enjoy the undergrad life in a new environment n experience university! As far as coming back to Canada is concerned, we have to right, after the foundation years, so guess I will, or may be USMLE's... no idea really... What about you?

hi my names James iv applied to study medicine I applied to leeds, manchester, bristol, newcastle I have a bsc natural sciences 2:1 hefc diploma chemestry, biology and quantitive methods iv achieved distinctions in all subjects I only got 500 in ukat and just wanted to no what my chances are getting in or an interview I was unsuccessful at Bristol and Manchester. Leeds and Newcastle are my only hope. i have done a very extensive work experience placements and volunteering. Please can any one help put my mind at rest
