Wink Computer

Going to Leeds medicine in coming sept. Can anyone tell me if I need to bring my notebook to classes very often? I have to decide on whether to buy a 12.1" or 14.1" notebook computers. weight and price are inversely proportional ! Thanks

nooooooooo
no one does that, never.
theres 250 of you crammed in a lecture theatre that will only just fit everyone, theres no room for files let alone a notebook :P

print out the lecture notes, bring a pen and some spare paper and thats all you'll need in a lecture.

i've seen people do it, no big deal.

I'd go with one that u can use at home as well, no point havin one just for lectures.

agreed. get a good one thats going to last the duration, not a little thing thats only useful for carting round lectures.
if you really want something to take to lectures. my advice would be to buy a good desktop computer you can work on, and then get one of those little asus ee laptops. they are tiny and designed for the exact purpose you want.

You most definately 100% dont need a laptop for lectures.

In terms of portability, it only really becomes an issue when on away hospital placements - it can be useful to have ur own computer with u to save faffing around with hospital librarys to do work in the evenings.

However, if u are anything like me, you will find you laptop is on its last legs by then anyway. Personally, i would go for a desktop, they are much cheaper to insure in uni accomodation and dont break half way through essay writing.
