Mature Students - Accommodation

Are any graduates/mature students starting in September going into halls? And if so which ones!?

I am having serious dilemmas over accommodation choices. This will be my second degree and whilst I loved halls the first time round I think I want it a bit more chilled out this time!

Is anyone in same situation? Or has been in the past? Help!!

hi rebby

i was in your position last year and while i enjoyed halls 1st time round, i particularly look forward to living with a bunch of wide-eyed 18 year olds doing freshers week and other daft things you do in 1st yr.

i ended up at the plaza, which is a unite property - its very close to the med school and town although i hesitate to recommend it because it is expensive and they are the worst run "organisation" (organisation was nil) i've ever come across. there are other independent student places in leeds too, i'm sure they're all on the internet.

then again, i had mature friends in bod (who sometimes felt a bit old and left out) and another in st marks who was lucky enough to be in a flat of matures and i think they both had a pretty good year where they were.

anyway, good luck.
i'm sure you'll have a great time at leeds no matter where you're living x

Thank you for your advice. I went for Lupton in the end, it seemed a bit more laid back (and cheaper!) than the others but still in the middle of things. I will find out if it was the right decision in a couple of weeks!
