Hmm...weird thread.

Am in Australia right now where a lot of people seem to live at home during uni (probably due to the geography of the country - basically one town per state, so everyone in that town goes to uni in that town) and they all seem to be having a good time. Can't really see what difference it makes whether people do the moving out 3 years earlier or later. I mean, while at school we all go out, clubbing etc, and we still live at home, so what's the difference...

By the way I also knew a Mum who went to uni the same time as her daughters, the Mum got into Oxford and the daughters didn't :-) They were well annoyed...

ah but taking one's mum from home to uni is another issue...

living at home is prob what i'll have to do studying in london for at least a couple of years, if i want any chance of wiping out my debt by 40...

yeh oxford is tough to get into

Yeah, i think i'll stay out for a year and then maybe live at home after that cos i really, really dont wana have to be paying back my loan[s] forever. Or maybe find somewhere really cheap to stay, but i dont know i'll find somewhere as nice as in my head, for the price as in my head.

Loooooooooooooooooooool oh my god thats sooo sweet you gotta take her with you!!
I wouldnt pay attention to those who uni life means to them = getting pissed as if its the only thing youre after!!
there is more to life than doing bizarre things for the sake of doing them! at the end of the day you know what makes you happy!
your mum sounds great if she was coming to my uni or living close by i would make her one of my best friends.
in few words if it would make both of you happy go for it.
