I understand what your saying here but i happened to stumble upon some posts by aspiration on a birmingham thread that seemed pretty insulting to someone who was asking a serious question as well as some random posts by this person on another leeds thread which tbh made me assume that this whole thing was just some sort of joke.

Oh yes, i'm very....pious.
And the main reason his first name would be different is because that's my last name. Shocking! "singe" surely would sound like the thing to do with fie, while the surname is more like the thing you do in the shower ![]()

my friends sikh and her surnames synge..pronounced singe so its ok terp. i always thought singh was a sikh thing like patel and shah were a guji thing, and fatima for loadsa muslim women's middle names.

Back to the topic in hand..
No...don't take your mother to uni...it's time you had some independance...plus if your asian...I'd say you need some time off from the 'rents =) Why do I get the feeling people have said the same thing in nastier ways.... |

I've never heard of the surname synge, especially not for a female, though i imagine it could be an obsolete and obscure family name.
On t'other hand there's what, 14 million of us?
