Leeds Vs HYMS

hey! thanks! very helpful to have another perspective on things... see people keep mentioning the amazing night life and whatnot. i'm pretty paranoid so i wouldn't exactly be going out so late at night and i do do the night life thing anyway, night clubs and pubs and whatnot are SO not my thing.

but hey, i come from Oman, where basically the most exciting place to be is the Cinema and the small fast fodo joints surrounding. and if u dnt liek movies thn u hang out at the shopping mall which was only recently enlarged to include places like the GAP and Zara!lol so anything will be different!

and i get what you mean about needing distance, but i would still prefer start clinical placements ASAP and if Hull-York is th eplace to be then so be it...

Im currently trying to make the same decision, but my issue is more with the courses. If it was just down to the city I would choose Leeds hands down as I really like it.

However I have heard some bad things about the Leeds course whereas HYMS seem really organised and well run. Do any current Leeds students have opinions on the course?

you should confirm the negative things you heard about the program in Leeds before you make a decision, make sure your source is reliable. hopefully some leeds students will get back to you soon!

heya, lol im from the UK, im not international if thats what you were wandering. Good luck with deciding between HYMS and Leeds, one of the main differences is in the course structure, PBL or lecture orientated, its a case of which you think you would prefer. Try and get the perspective of students who go there, i am sure they will tell you what they think otherwise the websites and prospectuses etc etc.

Hi preston, I just didnt particularly like leicester when I went there for my interview. If id only got in there obv wouldnt have turned it down but I didnt get a 'good feeling' from it. Nothing more than that really!

I havent made an out and out decision yet but I am leaning towards Leeds. HYMS was the only pbl course I applied for and that is just because in my opinion its the only one that seems to have got pbl right. The others eg manc and liv seem a bit unstructured and disorganised but thats just my opinion so noone jump on me for saying that!
