Wow that was 1 hell of a bitch fight lol!!!!!!!
I know wat Lucy means you do tend to choose the medical schools that your more likely to get into.
I applied to Durham because my careers adviser said they seem to like local students (im from newcastle but its stil north east, kind of close!!) and i had a spare option, and I got an interview so im not complaining.
But i chose leeds coz i loved it!!!!
Peole have different reasons.
At the same time saying somwhere is easy to get into was a pretty bad choice of words!!!! Lol!
But I just h8 waiting!!!!!!
Dont have any offers yet, i just hope somewhere wants me!!!!!!

That's really quite idealistic of you, are doctors not allowed to be in arguments because they're meant to be calm and collected 24/7? You made a really blase and naive comment, and people on the forum reacted to it. Maybe you were both wrong but in this case ... aren't you being judgemental as well?

i didn't see the "fight" so to speak :P
but i think what coco is trying to say is that applicants are under the false impression (not your fault, you've been taught to think this for interview) that all docs are practically perfect in every way. you think they don't judge people, they don't get angry, they don't get tired, they don't get a bit pissed of from time to time and that they understand everyones personal background.

which is ridiculous, they are human after all.

im assuming you mean you as in one in general, not me personally because i know enough drs to be aware that they have emotions like any other human being, including anger, and of course they get tired and annoyed, but im still sticking to my guns here that out of anyone, i think it is dr's who are,or at least should be the least judgemental out of any profession, otherwise, how can members of the public expect to be treated without prejudice? x

yes i do mean you as people in general.
and yeah in a ideal world averything would be peaches and cream and everyone would be lovely and nice and not judemental.
but its not, i've heard many a doc moan about/judge certain patients over a variety of things i'm not saying this to be harsh, you (people/applicants) i'm saying it so you understand the reality of medicine.
