Question ? accommodation 2007!!

hey.

im so confused at the minute concerning what accommodiation to choose!!
i would like somewhere,
- self-catered
- close to the uni (med building esp) and student union
- close to bars, clubs, city centre
- also somewhere where you can get peace to study but also social!

any recommendations/advice??

thanks

Pretty much all of the uni accomodations are within reasonable walking distance to campus. Lots of medics live in Devonshire and Boddington (both of which are a bit further out). Lots of the self-catered flats such as Leodis, Montague Burton and Henry Price are very close by and are likely to have at least a few other medics in them.

All halls which are close to uni, are by definition close to the city centre (it all depends on how much walking you are willing to do!). Any you can find peace and quiet in any hall when you need to work - but dont worry the work in first year is not all that taxing, there is plenty of time for fun.

catered for me! i bet overall it will work out cheaper than cooking yourself, and although it might seem exciting cooking for yourself at the beginning eventually time spent cooking can be better spent doing other stuff

I think i'd go for self catered actually. I like cooking my own food and eating what i feel like. lol Think i would prefer it to catered. ALthough everyones different. Looks at the accomodation booklet and they all look really really nice. Im surprised that the girl on the tour said that in the Leeds student polls, the accomodation got bad scores. I can't see why from looking at the booklet. I know the pictures can sometimes be a bit misleading, but they look pretty good to me!

I'm not going to the Open Day thing for the accommodation.. but it's pretty risky just choosing from the booklet..

Is North Hill any good ??

The viewing day is 28th April 10am - 4pm. Ye I think Devonshire looks good, I like the sound of all the music stuff happening there, but I'm still not sure about the others, so I am prob best going and having a look around. It came up on UCAS yesterday so Leeds is now defo my firm choice
