hey everyone! what do ppl think of these accomodations?
http://opalstudents.com/find-accommo...ils.aspx?id=20
Would anyone consider living here. Also any help and advice from current medical students would be welcome in terms of feedback received from m8s who may have lived ther, how far it is from campusetc etc

devonshire is full of public skoolers.
whislt theres nuffing wrong wif treading wif poshies, it means socialising wif them can be costly to keep up wif (cost spirals for them becos they generally dont pay for it), so fink carefully about going there.
i wuld recommend Boddingtons- many of the accom discussion websites wuld suggest the same.

I think Boddington can seem like a bit of a pain at first, but you get used to it really fast - all the medics know when to get their bus in the morning, and the buses run till early morning - I've been up there and stayed with a friend twice - the bus service was fine and I met loads of medics who loved living there - it may be far away but most of the other accomodation is along the road running from the uni to boddington so it's not really worse than a lot of otehr accomodation - and it's really social! I'm probably going to the accomodation day (just another excuse to visit my friend!) so hopefully see some of you there!

its tru, boddingtons is quite far out. this is inherently its only disadvantage, and its better than the others in ALL other respects. It feels like a all shuld feel like. And fortunatey, the bus journey in is short, and the location keeps the cost of living down a bit.
i wuld try and spend at least one year at the BOD so that you can truely experience wat 'all life shuld be about - none of the others comes as close to this ideal as Boddo does.
Devonshire is full of poshies aye.
Even if you aint been there yet, macca, look at it in the guide book. Now- imagine you are a poshie oxbridge reject who is miserable cos they aint gonna be in a poshie 'all anymore. Which leeds all wuld you pick as a substitute?
exactly. now multiply that by one 'undred poshies aving the same forts...teeming wif poshies

i wuld avoid devonshire.
i wuld try to do BOD in the first two years at some point. ma preference for in the first year being based on the fact that this is when you will be able to socialise most?
and you're rite, macca, i wuld try some accom nearer the uni within those two years as well.
