You can usually intercalate at other universities too if your own med school doesn't provide what you're looking for. That list looks mighty dull Brian

It's pretty high at Leeds. I can't put an exact figure on it but if you want to intercalate you can.

In the past approx 1/3 of each year intercalated (and it was fairly constant) however since fees went up, it has dropped to 50% or perhaps even lower. It has also recently come to light that an intercalated degree will not be given the weight it once was when applying for first jobs, hence the figures are likely to drop even more as it becomes less "helpful" in jobgetting.

Each intercalated programme does have a max number of students, but it really comes down to how popular a certain iBSc is in a particular year.

For example, last year Anatomy was v v v oversubscribed, however this year it is much less popular and i think pretty much everyone who wanted to do it is doing it if u know what i mean!

Check out:
http://www.leeds.ac.uk/medicine/intercalated/index.html (see links on left hand side).

Intercalating can still be written in the 'personal statement' section of the foundation application form, but it isn't included in the grade weighting.

Although fees will be higher, this means that there are more grants available. Plus if you do a certain project there is scope for scholarships as well.

It just depends on the year as to whether it's oversubscribed. However, usually you can get on anything.
