Clinical sciences odds??

I know that for Leeds the odds are about 15:1 for entry to the med course, but I was just wondering what the odds are for entering 2nd year leeds from clinical sciences at bradford??

Well it depends on how many people are in the year, how many want to transfer and how many actually reach the required mark. Exam results are out and I'm not sure how many people are eligible for interviews this year but I think it could be around 40ish, there could however be more or less. There are 20 places available so that makes it a 2:1 chance of getting a place. Hope that helps!

I think it's the 1st year. Someone (can't remember who) was saying that they tend to take more people from 1st year then they do foundation. But I'm not 100% sure, so don't quote me on that!

You could try emailing or calling the Clinical Sciences department and ask them, they don't keep transfer numbers a secret. I know last year 20 students from 1st year transferred, I'm not sure about foundation.

There's 20 places at leeds for foundation students and around 30 want to go for it at the moment. However in the past few years it's been something like 8 and 11 that have transferred.

oh, and they're also planning on putting the requirements up to over 70% for a transfer interview

See http://www.brad.ac.uk/acad/lifesci/c...rogression.php

20 max can go from year 0 - foundation (Bradford) to year one Leeds.
20 max can go from year 1 (Bradford) to year two Leeds

This doesn't mean to say Leeds will accept 20! If only two people are suitable, then only two people will get in!
