Gap Year or Clinical Sciences Year 2????!!!

Hi Guys.

So I got AAB in my 'A'-levels in 2005. I decided to give Clinical Sciences a try having recieved 4 rejections without interview from Manchester, Cambridge, Sheffield and Leeds.

The year HAS NOT gone well for me and I seriously doubt whether I will achieve the minimum mark required (60%) to be eligible for an interview at Leeds.

But I haven't given up on studying medicine.

The issue is, if I have to reapply, do I do so whilst on year 2 of Clinical Sciences, or do I take a gap year? Also, when is the closing date for booking the UKCAT.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Sam.

This is a difficult one and I urge you to ask the people running Clinical Sci.

However my interpretation is that if you do Clin Sci year 1 (and then meet all the requirements for MB ChB ie 60%, interview, health etc.) you can move to MB ChB. If you go into year 2 clinical sciences, that is basically saying that you are doing the full clinical sciences degree, so to go from year 2 clin sci to medicine would be like going from any degree part way through, which is not allowed.

Any Clinical sciencers got any better advice?
