i am applyin for medicine to leeds, my current AS grades are BCC, having really high BCC i am going to re take 5 AS modules in total, 3 in Jan and 2 in jun. which should become AAA/AAB
anyways
now the problem is, in my school, they predict you what you get in your AS and sumtimes higher if you are very close to the above grade.
in my case they said that they will be prdicting me ABB, which is one grade up from my AS due to the number of retakes as well as being close to the above grades ( only 15 UMS marks). the chemistry teacher was very un helpful, i was expecting an A prdicted grades, but she only gave me a B, even though i could achieve an A if i re took only unit 2 for chemistry ( which i got a U in, the rest 2 units were A)
NOW my question is can/should i still apply for medicine at leeds???
what shall i do??? i am currently begging my Biology teacher for an A, but i dont think he can predict me this, as my the modules im resiting are not very mark yeilding ones like chemistry ( /120).
to be honest i doubt leeds would even look at your ucas form if you have ABB predicted grades because their minimum entry requirement is AAB. They have thousands of applicants and im afraid they use the academic entry requirements as an initial method of deciding whether to call you to interview.
If i was you id beg beg and beg ur bio teacher for that A, if not take it higher to your head of 6th form/head teacher and put forward ur case, stressing its importance to your medicine application. If after all that they still refuse to give you AAB i would apply to those uni's that allow ABB, though im not sure if there are many this year that are allowing ABB applicants.
Oh, sorry to everyone on the waiting list :( That's rubbish!
Out of interest people who were rejected from Imperial, did they email to inform you or did you find out via Track?

The most annoying thing is that the selection centre always used to be later in the year, so other unis had a chance to give out offers first. If they'd done that this year, some of the rest of us...
