or asking someone who believes in God why they dont believe in God.
you simply dont need to ask me this question. it even transpires that you werent even asking me this question earlier, so why keep pressing the question remorsely 'ome?
    are you there yet?

And I've not said anything about ur medical. If you think there's some reason you can't tell people what medical school you're at, then thats fine, you live in ur little fantasy. Either ur not at med school, or ur at a med school that doesn't want to be linked to ur ridiculous comments, either way, it's a little sad.
    says you.
so neither, but you are welcome to your wrong opinion.

ok, macca, i'll cut the chord this time, but for real...no Dr C style re-animations for me. i give up.

    about keele.

i suspect a lot of the peeple applying for medicine see it as a 4th choice becos they've been brought up to believe that old red bricks are their main choices.
in ma view, it ought to be one of their main choices. twas one of mine, till they rejected me.

No, I'm clearly 'not there yet' because again you seem to be talking about something completely random, which also brings me back to the point why can't you answer a question? More importantly, why can't you just give a normal answer that everyone can understand.
And I hadn't directed the question at you in the first place. The conversation had arrived at that topic, I asked a question, and you seemed to see it as a personal attack at you and 'ur med school'. If you didn't have a normal response to my question why did you bother even to reply? Nothing you've said has helped answer my original question, that again, I wasn't asking to you anyway. If I had the time to go and ask people in that situation I would, but seeing as this is just a forum where people ask questions that hopefully someone else can answer, I don't really see the point in wasting all my time and effort.

Yes says me, well done. I can have my own opinion can't I?

People can do what they like regarding where they apply. Keele has an amazing med school and only seeing it for themselves and asking questions about it will help people realise that. And even if it is a 4th choice, at least it's one of their choices. They obviously liked it enough to choose it, and so thats better than not even being if the list in the first place.

I wish that I firmed Keele. I got ABB, but wonder if they might of had me anyway as my offer letter was dated 1 day after my interview. Probably reading into it too much.
I was so pro Keele though, until I got an offer from Barts and turned my back on them.

Random post of the day there..?

hey people.. I am really interested in applying to Keele and I called them regarding my case as I missed my grades this summer and got Bs (due to extenuating circumstances) and they said it was alrite for me to apply as long as i got 3 As in my resits but I was wondering if resit applicants were at a disadvantage even tho they had genuine reasons for missing their grades?

Keele are mint at giving everybody a fair chance, as long as they (the applicant) show that they disserve their place in Medicine (ie not just pure academics - all rounders.) For example the interview is quite structured and is quite tough in places.

If you get what they said (A's), you won't be disadvantaged I don't think. But their admissions team are well friendly so give them a call..!

First and foremost, I know Dr C is a Keele medic, although not 100% certain about Gizmo..but the one thing that I do question is...how the hell have you guys got so much time to spend on a forum, debating so much irrelevant and useless information? It has turned into a personal vendetta, so for the benefit of all the innocent bystanders and information seekers, can you revert to the "private message" function maybe?

PS for those apprehensive about applying to Keele due to "potential stereotyping": My father was a cabbie and had to look after a family of 6, and thankfully this was of no detriment to my chances of getting into Keelem, or the other 2 unis that I obtained offers from. Neither was my melanin count for that matter....

Hopefully using this forum for its intended purpose...I will try and answer this question. Keele will not in the slightest discriminate against you not attaining your A levels, most notably if it were due to mitigating circumstances. As long as you can provide some form of evidence (if indeed possible), then I can see no reason why you would not obtain a conditional offer (one of other final year colleagues also had to reapply the following year due to the same situation). Good luck, and if you need any further advice, do not hesitate to ask any of Keele medics on the forum!!

you are quite lucky in that respect, you really must feel it everyday being at a more eglatarian uni wif normal(ish hehehe), instead of being stuck in a med skool where every 8 out of 10 peeple are from an expensive posh skool. it meks you wonder what all these peeple on this forum who raise a the fuss about red brick universities are on, when you can go to such a lovely, peaceful place like this.

altohugh poshies mek just as good docs, i would stress, its just you feel it cos their lifestyles are so different to ours, is what i mean, like going off to £400 ski trips at my place (which we poories blatantly cant afford till we leave uni...so why are theyuni activities at all?). dont mean that in a bad way, afore anyone has a fit, just i'm trying to stress its different at different med skools...its nice to be at a med skool that caters for your needs, not the needs of poshies predominantly.
