    free fee status+funding

    Hi,

What I understood is that if I am applying for graduate entry medicine in Ireland I will never qualify for the "free fees status" as this is only for people going to university for the first time.

Well, what about funding opportunities available for EU students, i.e.: grants, bursaries, scholarships,...etc. things that are not repaid back, is there any thing like that?

    Regards,

Not that I know of. And having attended the RCSI open day it didn't get mentioned. the only thing people talk about is the loan deals you can get with the Irish banks. I'm not sure is that as easy for EU students.

technally the fees for graduate medicine in ireland are around €25,000 but the HEA pays around €12,000/€13,000 (it one if them can't remember which) the rest is up to the student to pay for themselves, there are bank loans and we have some people who worked in the banks and they said the banks are happy to give out money to people i.e. loan as they know that Drs in Ireland then to get payed pretty well and they have you for life (on joking), but we have no EU students in our year only Irish and North American, I'd probably say that most EU would go to england - with it being cheaper

As far as I know there is only one programme which offers any sort of scholarship which is the University of Limerick. This scholarship is quite difficult to attain as it's only available to those socio-economically challenged such as those who may be applying from an agricultural backgroud or perhaps from thr travelling community.

Given your current status as an EU applicant you are eligible to apply!
