Graduate entry positions!!

I'm trying to figure out what the trends will be like this year, for the minimum required GAMSAT entry points! Can anyone find any of those old articles that state how many places are being allocated to each school, and when? I know Galway doesn't come in until next year, so are the other schools increasing their places at all for 2009? I think most people couldn't believe it went down as low as 56 in 2008!

I'm hoping the numbers of applicants don't increase by much in 2009! Do you think the fact that the GAMSAT has been referred to by most people as "the most horrible thing I've ever had to do in my life" will sway a lot of the fresh graduates to take the new HPAT instead? It's 1/3 of the price...

I know it's early days but I'm trying to decide whether or not to see that yoke again in March. I only got 61.

UL is upping the number, I think to 80 or 90.

With about 26 days left to the xmas exams, looking back I'd have to say that GAMSAT wasn't all that bad

61's a good score - plenty people got far lower than that.

Are you sure that still stands? I was told by a GEP organiser that they've decided to stall it for the time being. I'm not sure when this was decided on, and I haven't seen it in writing, but I was told this around 2 weeks ago.

I'm well aware of what a good score is! But at this stage I think...better safe than sorry!

Not an option. You need to have sat the leaving cert in 2009 to qualify for the HPAT route.

By fresh graduates I assume you mean degree graduates - who won't qualify for 'HPAT entry'.

61 is a good score as you're well aware but you'll meet plenty of people with much better ones should you get accepted (and of course with lower scores)
