Aidan - sorry to hear that you're having trouble as well ( I shouldn't take relief from the fact that you are having difficulties but am afraid I do!) I don't at all feel that I'm hard done by - i'm just struggling at the minute - feel like am at the end of a rollercoaster and the stop sign can't come soon enough! It's like no matter how well prepared you are - or how much you do, it's never enough! Edinburgh refuse to send me an authorised copy of my transcript - I guess i'm going to have to post off my originals with a nice letter requesting their return (even if CAO do not normally do it - I hate grovelling but I may have to!) I shouldn't bore you folk any further with this saga - but i am slowly losing the will to live with this whole application process! How people hang in for more than two years is beyond me - kudos to whoever that applies to! Aidan, all the best with your application - your mark should be enough for both CAO and UCAS - hope it is anyway (might end up joining you in the re-sit tho!)

A nice letter accompanied by a stamped, self-addressed envelope should hopefully guarantee the return of your original documents. And sending a photocopy with the original, clearly labelling each so there's no confusion might help it along. Best of luck with getting it all sorted. It's not the most straightforward of processes!

So I just spoke to Mary in CAO, and she said the copy of the Academic Record I sent "should be fine." It had all my grades for the 4 years of college and showed my overall 2.1.
If in any doubt, phone phone phone, then record the details of the conversation.
Catherine, I'd give CAO a ring, explain the situation and maybe they'll sort out something for you? It cant hurt!Starting UCD in September!!

From the CAO today, in response to an email from me:
Phew!“Your degree was accepted as meeting the minimum entry requirements for graduate entry medicine.”

I'm beginning to wonder if this Mary woman *is* the CAO - everyone I've seen here writing "I rang the CAO" seems to end the sentence with "talked to Mary".
This is either a very good thing, in that the 500 applicants have a single person to go after if we all get screwed over in a few days, or a very bad thing in that the 500 applicants will be getting screwed over in a few days.UL class of 2012.
I think my brain is full.

Ah good ol Mary.... What a legend! I think she has some backoffice helpers, but I reckon she basically is the CAO!

I think Mary gets a dig out from time to time. Got this in my inbox from Ivor Gleeson:
Q:"Since the results are available on Friday, why are they not posted online on Friday when the office can be contacted by students with any problems rather than Saturday when the office is closed?"
A:"We have to liase with the admissions offices of the institutions concerned and this takes time.
There should be no problems if you have complied with the instructions previous sent to you and so there would be no need to contact the CAO Office.
The office will be open on Monday at 09:30"

Right well I've just sent Mr Gleeson another polite message explaining why even the close of business on Friday would be better than Saturday at 6am. See if that does anything. My god, I'm so impatient.
