    University Choices for Grad Medicine

Hey, I thought it might be handy if everyone just listed their choices by preference? Just so we've an idea whos looking for where!
    Mine are..

RCSI (Haven't a HOPE but oh well)
    UCD
    UL
    UCC (Too far away!)

think you guys all know that I'm dithering - afraid I still am finding it hard to trust the CAO system!

    As it stands tho
    UL
    UCD
    RCSI
    UCC

Am looking - I think - still can't commit - to put RCSI and UCD first - just terrified that someone with a 59 will get in - and I won't!!

    Heya Catherine:
In my opinion you should put your choices down in the order that you want not in the order of courses you think you'll get into

superdoc1 - thanks - you guys have been really helpful - and I think I will, some day very soon, bite the bullet - and change my ordering - i'm just terrified I'll miss the boat (again!) Galwaygirl in the forum has been really encouraging, suggesting that people with 56 might get in, so maybe I should jsut seize the day and do it - are you aware of any financial agreements with a bank to do with ucd- or is rcsi the best bet there - i'm tending towards obs and gynae at the end of the day, so maybe the more surgically-minded rcsi would be best!! Ahhhhh

    My preferences are:

    1 RCSI
    2 UCD
    3 UL
    4 UCC

    Gamsat: 62

Catherine: Don't count on 56 getting anywhere - It's possible but a long shot. I've said it before - Your 59 has a realistic shot at -all- locations. UL might be more popular than you think. The only reason you give for not listing in order of preference is fear of rejection. You need to look that fear in the eye now before it snowballs - you will face it again and again in your life.

spike - I know, I know - you guys have been more than patient! I fully admit that I am being nothing short of cowardly at the minute - I guess I just feel that I have taken so many gambles on this whole Med thing that I'm struggling to make that one final jump - I'm sure you have all given up things, and challenged others' opinions etc etc - so I'm not trying to say that I am better than anyone - just that I've hit my wall, and am afraid to go that one step further! I think I will - just dithering at the minute! Should do it today really - then I'll be content! Hadn't been terribly convinced bout 56, but think from the sound of things that 59 might be in with a go - so, I'll bite the bullet - and stop complaining - promise!!!

Dublin hospitals might be better positioned to handle rare and unusual things too - hmmmm

    1. RCSI (love surgery, for Y2 in blanchardstown I can live at home, probably a bit scattered so no easy access to college gym/bar/library)
    2. UCD (the best hospitals, the best facilities i.e. all on campus)
    3. UL (possibly the best course, but regional hospitals..are they as good?)
    4. UCC (too far away)

    College preferences

    Hi all,

I def want to stay in Dublin to save on rent (will be returning home to the parents aaaaah) so my choices are:

    1) UCD
    2) RCSI
    3) UCC
    4) UL

I may well end up changing my mind and swapping UCD for RCSI as first choice though. Got 66 in Gamsat so im hopeful of being offered first choice. Id be delighted with either though!
