International Medical Students applying to UK for 2013 intake!

I really wanna know about people who will be applying to UK medical schools along with me for 2013 intake!

Btw i'm from Srilanka!

hey.. I am from India and i was hoping to apply to UK medical schools too for Graduate Entry Programme. At present I am doing my engineering but my ambition is to pursue medicine. So i was looking for Universities in UK.

Where all are you going to apply?

I'm gonna be applying to UCL,KCL,Barts and the London school of Medicine and Cambridge!

Since you can only choose 4 universities when you apply for medicine these are my preference!
What about you?
Where are you thinking of applying? Whereabout in India and what are your qualifications if i may know!

I am from Mumbai. I did my 12th from CBSE from here only with 94% aggregate and 96.5% in phy chem bio..i had maths as well with me..
I am doing my engineering from Mumbai Univ in IT but i was looking forward to following medicine from UK especially in GEP. I havent yet decided where to apply coz i dont really know where all i will be eligible in(being from technical background). So i am researching a bit as to where would be my best options :P
what about u? whereabouts in Sri Lanka? and u applying for the 5 year course?
what about work experience? I mean in India there are no opportunities for work experience man. I dont know how adversely will that affect my chances

Hey, I'm an international student from Canada and starting this fall.
Just a quick little tip, apply SMART, wait till you do your UKCAT and see what you get there. Depending on what you get on that and your other area of strengths, eliminate schools that won't be playing at your strengths.
Make sure you guys read their website carefully, some schools pointblank state they prefer applicants from areas where medical schools are not as readily available.

where are you starting at?
I am more worried about work experience.. Not really tensed about academics coz i am pretty sound in that area..
Moreover i am worried that i am an international student that too with a non-medical(Since doing engineering)background.. although i had aced in my 11th and 12th and read a lot of extra stuff for med exam prep for India, I dont know if they would consider all that..
Dont really know how to go about it.. :\

@Shubhi- I'm from Colombo! I will be shadowing a GP starting from this weekend and hope to work at a clinic for a few weeks.Why don't you try ringing hospitals and ask them for assistance with your work experience???

Hey shubhi why don't u try ringing ur nearby hospitals and ask for assistance?
I mean i will be shadowing a GP starting from this weekend and hope to work @ a clinic afterwards! I'm from Colombo btw! Sorry not familiar with Indian markings but from what i see u seem lyk a high achieving student!
